It’s A Fineline

It’s all the rage. It’s what the people want. And it’s what we specialise in.

It's Fineline, Baby

It’s crisp. Whimsical. Delicate and detailed.

What is Fineline?

Fineline tattoos comprise mostly line work that is very thin, usually executed with something like a 3 round liner. Traditionally, tattoos are done with thicker lines using a 9-round shader. (This depends on the artist, of course!) Basically, fewer needles in the needle cartridge will mean a finer line.

Tattoos have evolved dramatically in the past 10 years. The demographic has shifted, and just about anyone will get a tattoo. One of the biggest shifts has been the number of women getting tattoos. Many women prefer fine-line tattoos, which are softer, more understated, and often more feminine-looking.

The Appeal of Fineline Tattoos

Fineline is great for simple tattoos such as script, outlines of symbols, delicate florals, and basic shapes. They are best suited for places like hands, feet, and fingers. (NB: Hands, fingers, and feet do tend to drop out ink, so always speak with your artist about this before going ahead!)

Ryan's Expertise in Fineline Tattooing

Ryan has become known on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, and beyond for his fine-line tattoo work because his lines are exceptionally crisp and clean. This style can be one of the harder to master because any kind of wobble in the linework is easily seen and very hard to fix!

The Beauty of Fineline Tattoos

Fineline tattoos are beautiful and allow for intricate details to be created or added to larger pieces. It’s a style we love to do here at The People's Ink, and we feel this tattooing will only grow and evolve in the years to come.
